Staff Jyl Torrens Jyl has been dancing since the age of 4, she was given the choice between dancing or preschool and hasn’t looked back since! Her dancing led to the first ever Mini Miss title of Colusa County in 1989, and her dance group 58 MPH appeared on NBC’s Star Search 91! Her talents took her to LA, Europe, NY, and even across the seas. Her dancing credits include the Rugrats show at Universal Studios, Wild Bill’s Wild West Extravaganza, and the cast aboard Holland America’s MS Ryndam. She has performed in Santa Barbara Civic Light Opera’s Singin’ in the Rain, Houston Theater Under the Stars’ 42nd Street, 42nd Street European Tour, and La Mirada Community Theater’s Guys and Dolls. Jyl danced for 7 seasons with the Radio City Rockettes of the world famous Radio City Music Hall and was featured in many tv, radio, and newspaper interviews as a spokesperson for the Rockettes. She danced on Jay Leno’s Tonight Show, Donnie and Marie, NBC’s Today Show, and the Grand Re-opening Gala of Radio City Music Hall. Bruce Epperson Bruce is a guest instructor at Stardust Dance and comes to us from Epperson Bros. Kenpo Karate Dojo. He specializes in karate and kickboxing and teaches out of his own studios in Willows and Orland. He believes that karate teaches self-confidence, self-defense, and respect and is available for group and private lessons. Tanya Kieselbach Tanya is a guest instructor who is trained in Middle Eastern, Western, and traditional bellydancing. She is a teacher for the Chico rec center and her students are showcased around the Chico area. Tanya’s classes are mystical and fun and she gives a lot of history and insight about the essence of dance. Michael and Martha Dagroo Guest instructors Michael and Martha are a married ballroom dancing couple living in Colusa County. They are retired and enjoy teaching dance for fun! They are former competitors with a lot of teaching experience in various traditional ballroom and Latin styles. Michael likes to cater to the men in class because it’s usually not their idea to be there- in fact that’s how he started dancing himself!
